This statement explains what personal information this website collects, why, and what you can do about it. I have tried to keep it short and in plain English.
Who I am
This website, stevepatten.com, is run by Steve Patten, New Ross, Co Wexford, Ireland. I am responsible for any personal information collected through it. If you have a question about your information, email steve@stevepatten.com or call +353 87 207 6859.
What I collect and why
- When you use the contact form: your name, email address, subject and message. I use these only to reply to you and, if you are booking a performance, to arrange it. Your message is sent to me by email. I do not add you to any mailing list.
- When you leave a comment on the blog: your name, email address, comment and, if you add one, your website. Your name and comment are shown publicly; your email address is not. The site also records your IP address and browser details to help catch spam. If you have a Gravatar profile, a coded version of your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to show your profile picture.
- When you contact me directly by email or phone, I keep what you send me so I can deal with your enquiry.
- Cookies and visitor statistics: the site uses only the cookies it needs to work, unless you agree to more. Visitor statistics (Google Analytics) are only switched on if you press Accept on the cookie banner. See the Cookie Policy for details.
The legal basis
I handle contact form messages, direct enquiries and comments because I have a legitimate interest in responding to people and running this website, and, for bookings, to take steps towards an agreement you have asked for. Statistics cookies are used only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who else sees your information
I do not sell or share your information. It is only handled by the services that keep this site running: my web hosting company (Hosting Ireland), the email service that delivers contact form messages to me, and, if you have accepted statistics cookies, Google. Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, in which case they rely on the safeguards required by EU law.
How long I keep it
I keep contact form messages and emails only as long as I need them to deal with your enquiry or booking, and then delete them. Comments stay on the site for as long as the post they belong to, unless you ask me to remove them.
Your rights
You can ask me to:
- tell you what information I hold about you and give you a copy
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete your information
- stop or limit how I use it
- send your information to you or someone else in a common format
You can change your cookie choices at any time using the “Manage Consent” button on the site. To use any of the other rights, just email me. If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at www.dataprotection.ie.
Security
The site uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, so information you send through it is encrypted on its way to me.
Changes
If I change how I use personal information, I will update this page and the date at the top.
